Mini Mon Match

Venue:

Carmarthen Judo Club, Carmarthen Leisure Centre, Llansteffan Road, Johnstown, Carmarthen, SA31 3NQ

Aim:

This is a Level Two competition and an event for intermediate players of limited experience.  It should be seen as an introduction to competition for newer players and a learning experience for all. 

Participation:

Competitors must be members of the WJA/BJA/BJC and produce their licence on the day, which must be a full -16 licence.  No -8 or Introductory licences.  Competitors must be 8 yrs old and under 16 yrs old on the day.

Categories:

Group A: Boys Red Belts      

Group B: Boys Yellow and Orange Belts

Group C: Girls Red Belts

Group D: Girls Yellow and Orange Belts

Weigh-in:

All times will be posted on the Club website, Instagram and Facebook page.  The weigh-in will start approx. 8.30am.

Event Format:

There are no weight categories.  All players will be sorted into groups by grade, weight and age.  Competition will be single pools with all players receiving a medal.

Entry Fee:

£18 per player.  (Non-refundable unless tournament is cancelled by organisers).  No entries on the day.  Please ensure that all required information is on your entry.  Confirmation of purchase is also confirmation of entry.  Closing date – 15^th June or when 75 limit reached.

Rules:

• BJA Technical Restrictions will apply for all groups.
• All competitors must wear a short sleeved t-shirt, preferably white for weigh in.
• T-shirts worn during contests must be a WHITE short sleeved t-shirt.
• Players must wear a white judogi (no karate or jujitsu suits allowed).
• Zori or soft footwear must be worn to the mat edge and off the mat generally.

Photography/ Filming:

By entering the event, all participants and parents/guardians of participants are consenting to photography and filming at the event.  You also accept that the photography/filming may be used by the organisers on their social media and website.

Information:

•   Coaches must produce a valid BJA Coach Award Card (reflecting matside privileges) to gain matside access.
•   Competitors who are entering a category which is different to their sex assigned at birth are requested to contact safeguarding@britishjudo.org.uk at the earliest opportunity.
•   Light refreshments will be available on the day from the club.  The leisure centre also has a cafe serving hot and cold food.  The consumption of your own food is also allowed.
